STEEL CITY® TOOL WORKS INTRODUCES FIRST PORTABLE PLANER EQUIPPED WITH HELICAL HEAD

Steel City continues its ongoing pursuit of bringing innovative and superior quality products to the woodworking marketplace with the introduction of their 13" Deluxe Portable Planer with patented helical cutterhead (model no. 40200H).
According to Scott Box, Steel City's president, "Our patented helical head has 26 indexable HSS inserts, providing superior finish, longer cut time and quieter operation. Traditionally, helical cutterheads have been cost prohibitive in this class of machinery. But with our new innovative head design, we can bring this feature to the hobbyist, as well as experienced woodworkers
Mr. Box acknowledged that one competitor was offering a helical head as an accessory. But Scott added, "Steel City is able to offer the helical head as standard on our new Deluxe 13" Portable Planer at a huge savings to our customers.
The Steel City 13" Deluxe Portable Planer is driven by a 15 amp 120V single phase, 60 Hertz motor to provide plenty of power for full width planning or long-run jobs. The Snipe Lock holds the cutterhead assembly firmly in place to minimize snipe. Other features include an easy to read depth of cut indicator for precise cuts and fast set up time, and extra large foldaway in-feed and out-feed tables to support large work pieces.
